Abstract
The dissertation embarked on HIV & AIDS as a contemporary issue for Christians and Muslims dialogue
in Tabora Tanzania. Tabora is in the western part of Tanzania, it is the largest region in Tanzania covering
76151 square km with the population of 2. Million people. The researcher conducted a detailed
investigation on the impact of HIV and AIDS among Christians and Muslims and how the disease can be
the basis of dialogue. The research design involved the use of questionnaires and interviews as
methodology to collect data. Some of the causes of the epidemic were promiscuity, infidelity,
mother to child transmission among many others. In the finding, the impact of the disease was
found to be strong and with a concern from both Christians and Muslims. There was a strong
impact felt as found in the analysis in chapter four which described the pain caused by the
disease. The disease therefore created an atmosphere for the dialogue to be implemented between
Christians and Muslims in order to raise ideas to bring the problem to a control. There is need for
breaking of religious boundaries to become more of one united society to face the reality in the
society. HIV/AIDS therefore stands a strong base in enhancing the relations. I recommend the
need for acceptance or admitting the reality of the disease amongst the self. The disease should
be understood as a tragedy facing the entire community and not associated with a given
community, society or religion. We should avoid blame game and stereotyping the disease. There
should be regular communal sensitization meetings that bring all people together for social,
health education on terminal diseases that are likely to dismantle the unity
