Abstract:
Historically, the African Independent Churches have been on the margins of Christianity in Africa. They arose outside the Christian missions and were~ not included in the Christian Councils. They were neither accepted by the ecumenical churchmen nor the evangelicals. Dr. James Kombo in his article describes how many of these AIC churches are moving from the margins to the centre and are gaining greater recognition. He also discusses the implications of this for the theology of the African Independent Churches.
