Government policy is focused on tackling youth unemployment and improving involvement in project development. Nevertheless, the effect of the participation of the youth in community development initiatives has not been significant, creating a developmental challenge for the youth, the government and the community at large. The research investigated the factors that influence young people's involvement in community development initiatives in Limuru subcounty. In particular, it aimed to analyze how socio-cultural factors, educational attainment, availability of information, and financial access impact the involvement of young people in such initiatives. The research was supported by Arnstein's theory of community involvement, social systems theory, social learning theory, and resource-based theory. A study employed a descriptive research methodology, focusing on 38,410 young individuals in Limuru subcounty, with a sample size of 395. Cluster sampling was used in each of the five wards to determine the number of youths in each ward. Participants were chosen through the use of simple random sampling. Questionnaires were distributed to the youth and interviews conducted with leaders of community development initiatives. The researcher made sure that all questionnaires were filled out. Inferential statistics, Pearson correlation, and regression analysis were utilized to evaluate variables and investigate their combined impacts. Results revealed that socio-cultural factors positively and significantly affect youth participation in community development projects in Limuru subcounty (β = 0.491, p = 0.000). Level of education had a positive and significant effect on youth participation in community development projects in Limuru subcounty (β = 0.070, p = 0.049). Findings showed that information accessibility positively and significantly affects youth participation in community development projects in Limuru subcounty (β = 0.156, p = 0.000). Access to finance has a positive and significant effect on youth participation in community development projects in Limuru subcounty (β = 0.257, p = 0.000).The study concludes that youth education level influences involvement in community projects. Awareness campaigns and advocacy programs are key in promoting youth involvement in community projects. Clear communication and information accessibility help motivate and inform the youth. Favorable financial environment with easy access to credit and financing options further support their engagement. While apprenticeships and technical training have proven effective in increasing participation, there is a need for the Government of Kenya to create pathways that also engage highly educated youth. County and national development programs should focus on promoting a positive attitude towards loans among the youth, while providing guidance on managing collateral and securing funding.en_US
