| dc.description.abstract | This study is an investigation of the Muslim discourses of marginalization in education and its influence on Christian-Muslim relations in Dar es salaam, Tanzania. The question of marginalization in education has become thorny in relations between Muslims and Christians in Dar es Salaam. Muslims claim that they have been marginalized over the years in the field of education leading to their underdevelopment. As a result, adherents of the two religion have always confronted each other through open air meetings, articles, magazines, TV and radio stations. The study shows that there have been various forms of discourses regarding marginalization in education. These discourses have historical precedents but are also shaped by contemporary developments. The discourses have an adverse effects on Christian-Muslim relations, yet open opportunities for the prevalent inequalities to be addressed. | en_US |
