Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of the insertion of the values of Christology and Kaizen on the Moral decadence in African leadership through dynamic inculturation for the deeper evangelization of Africans and enhanced politico-socio-economic development. The study was library-based. This dissertation argues that the work of Christ should be considered in entirety, from incarnation to death and resurrection as well as glorification as salvific. The dissertation surveyed some of the classicaland contemporary period Christology doctrines that attempted to explain the work of Christ as salvific. It realized that some Western theories are not fully accepted in contemporary Africa due to differences in worldview. Further, the secular interventions to moral decadence in African leadership are not satisfactory in contemporary society. For this reason, this dissertationused the method of dynamic inculturation to address moral decadence in African leadership. The study applied the principle of nexus mysteriorumin which lie revelation approachesanalogia fidei and analogia entis for the good news brought by Jesus Christ contained in the Christology doctrine as the solution. Italso usedthe philosophy of Kaizen(change for the good) as logoi spermatikoi for managerial incapabilityin the context of moral decadence in African leadership. The study found that Africa was characterized by social, political, and economic problems and to overcome quality and productivity failures, some companies had to embrace change for good (Kaizen)as the foundation for numerous management systems on quality, production, productive maintenance, standards, assurance, and audits.Once the received Christianity and Kaizen were purified by purging interpolations incompatible with cultural context and then inserted into the cleansed traditional and contemporary culture then African leadership acquireda character of servant leadership virtues. Finally, inculturation removed the foreignness of Christianity and enabled African Christians to be in proper community with God in Christ and that development wasthen driven by spiritual and material factors, with economic, technical, and structural causes. The study concluded that integrating Christian values and science values into African leadership through Dynamic Inculturation led to deeper evangelization and enhanced development. It demonstrated that the neotic approach resolved pastoral problems in social action, allowing humanity to trust in Christ instead of relying on other means.Dynamic inculturation with emendation aimed at helping African Christians convert to their roots, allowing them to live their faith in depth and express it in their own way. The study recommended using the approach in addressing pastoral issues like moral decadencethrough inculturation because they involved understanding divine truths through cultural practices. Dynamic inculturation should be integrated into business and theological education to promote kaizen and Christian faith. Finally, knowing Christ as the ultimate redeemer encouraged humanity to emulate his servant leadership.
