Effective leadership may be as a result of individuals working together to give an organization ways to follow. Persons should be accountable for their free choices but, leaders would be accountable to things they do. From monitoring and evaluation of CDF performance in Kenya in 2010, it is evident that CDF projects in various counties in the country experience failure and delayed in completion or have stalled due to leadership constraints (GOK, 2012). Similarly, whereas several CDF projects within constituencies in a county are succeeding, other projects are failing. The main objective of the research was to analyze the contribution of leadership approaches to implementation of C.D.F projects in Kiambaa Sub-County. This study used descriptive research design because it gives an accurate profile of situations. Descriptive research design was used to get quantitative and qualitative information in regards to the current status, contribution of leadership approaches, to survey what exits in regards to the conditions in a situation, in this case the implementation of CDF projects in Kiambaa Constituency. The study population of interest was 2741 respondents who are involved in CDF project management. The study adopted simple sampling and purposive sampling was used in selecting a sample size of 338 respondents for this study who were the Member of Parliament and county assembly. The data was collected through questionnaire. Analysis of the data was then done using descriptive statistics that included percentage, tables and bar charts. Analysis of qualitative data which was gathered from interview guide and open ended questions was done through content analysis and then presented in prose form guided by thematic approach. The study found that effective leadership approach influenced motivation of members in the implementation of project. The study also established that leadership approach to decision making contributed to successful implementation of CDF projects since all stakeholders were involved. In addition, the study revealed that through evaluation, leaders ensured deviations in the implementation of the implementation of the projects were corrected, ensured project implementation strategies are working or need to be changed, control risks, and control the scope to the projects contributing to implementation of CDF projects. The study concluded that effective delegation of authority influenced utilization of time efficiently, enhanced project members’ morale, creativity and enhanced satisfaction contributing to implementation of CDF projects in Kiambaa Sub County. The study recommends that leadership should motivate project, delegate, and monitor and evaluate to contribute to implementation of CDF projects.en_US
